Manipur Issue News Live Updates: A 21-member delegation from opposition parties in the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) visited violence-hit Manipur on Saturday to conduct a spot assessment of the ground situation and subsequently make recommendations to the government and Parliament for a solution to the problems in the violence-hit state. The delegation will be meeting Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey on Sunday morning.
The twenty-member delegation comprises MPs from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, including Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Gaurav Gogoi, Rajiv Ranjan Lalan Singh, Sushmita Dev, Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, Sandosh Kumar, AA Rahim, Prof Manoj Kumar Jha, Javed Ali Khan, Mahua Maji, PP Mohammed Faizal, Aneel Prasad Hegde, ET Mohammed Basheer, NK Premachandran, Sushil Gupta, Arvind Sawant, D Ravikumar, Thiru Thol Thirumavalavan, Jayant Singh, and Phulo Devi Netam.
Opposition members have been protesting in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha during the monsoon session of Parliament, demanding a detailed discussion on the situation in Manipur and a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
